The problem

Todi Pruteanu is an amateur triathlete, and in 2010 decided to help Ciprian Balanescu a Romanian National Triathlon Champion, participate in the London 2012 Olympics. Todi decided to invite fellow coleagues and friends to bet on his performance at the 2010 IronMan 70.3 - Rapperswil-Jona race.

Depending on his result and the bets placed, he would then transfer all the money raised to Ciprian's account, money that would be used for training, medicals and nutrition.

Todi needed a small application where people could bet on his performance, and that would later allow him to view all the bets he'd won or lost.

The solution

As we had little time to develop and user experience was a must, so we used Silverlight 4 as the client technology and WCF RIA services to communicate to the server the various bets placed by the people invited to the campaign.

The logo's and artwork presented on the site were created by Fish Studio, a local design company also involved in the project.

The whole campaign was invite-only so you had to access the site with a special token, this means that if you visit the site now you would probably only see the landing page.
